Beautifully appointed and conveniently located in Goldenhill,
Colton House provides specialist care for the Elderly Mentally
Ill.
It is modern with the latest facilities and was purpose built
in 1995 to be a home-from-home for loved ones and to give dignity
and quality of life to our residents.
At Colton House everyone is treated as an individual by carers
who adopt a family approach, with each resident choosing their
own routine, wherever possible, based around a care plan which
highlights special needs and abilities.

We believe in embracing each individual personality and creating
a life-style environment which can add so much to the happiness
of those in our care and help overcome the frustrations associated
with mental health problems.
At Colton House, our philosophy is to link quality living with
a truly caring approach.
Attractive bedrooms, most with en-suite facilities, are light
and spacious and can be personalised with mementos, pictures and
even furniture, so that residents can surround themselves with
their memories.

There are two large comfortable lounges, a smokers lounge and
a dining room, which is also used throughout the day for activities
that provide a major element of recreation at Colton House.
This includes exercise, aromatherapy, massage, hair and beauty,
video shows, reminiscence therapy, music plus a regular programme
of outings to places of interest.
Accommodating residents funded by Social Services or those with
private means, Colton House is registered with the Commission
for Social Care Inspection to give full nursing care to 46 elderly
mentally ill residents. The home is managed by a CSCI Registered
Manager who is a Registered Mental Nurse as well as a Registered
General Nurse.
The home is staffed by qualified nurses at all times who are backed
by care assistants many of whom have obtained or are studying
for NVQ qualifications in the care of the elderly.
